The Impact of the U.S.-China Trade War on China's Wood Industry
Since the White House website published the President’s Memorandum on March 22, 2018, U.S. time, announcing the imposition of additional tariffs on more than 1,300 imported products from China worth $50 billion under the Section 301 investigation, Sino-U.S. trade tensions have gradually escalated. On July 11, 2018, the U.S. government announced measures to impose additional tariffs on approximately $200 billion worth of goods imported from China and invited public comments on these measures. On August 2, the U.S. side announced its intention to raise the tariff rate on the aforementioned $200 billion in goods from 10% to 25%. Wood Industry Knowledge: Cultivation Techniques for Qianjinba
Qianjinba is a perennial medicinal plant whose roots are the primary part used in medicine. It has a well-developed main root that penetrates deeply into the soil, with few or no lateral roots. It thrives in dry conditions but is sensitive to waterlogging and exhibits strong vitality. Therefore, it is best to select deep, sandy loam or loamy soils—soils that are loose and well-drained—with adequate drainage and no compacted layers beneath the topsoil. Plowing is ideally done in autumn; if autumn plowing is not feasible, spring plowing can be substituted, provided that soil moisture levels are properly maintained. Before planting, clods should be broken up and the ground leveled; otherwise, this could hinder the development of robust seedlings. Beds should be about 1.2 meters wide and approximately 30 centimeters high, with bed lengths determined by the terrain. Qianjinba Cultivation Techniques: I. Site Selection and Land Preparation Qianjinba prefers warm, sunny conditions.
