Zhao Jun, Vice President of the China Forestry Industry Association, said that the reason for choosing the Dongguan International Furniture Machinery and Materials Exhibition as the venue for this inaugural conference is twofold. First, Dongguan is a major furniture production base and a key logistics hub. Second, the exhibition has expanded from 40,000 square meters last year to 60,000 square meters, setting a benchmark for industry development and attracting numerous companies to stop and take a closer look. At the same time, the event brings together about 600 enterprises from home and abroad, specializing in smart home appliance manufacturing equipment, new material research and development, and production.

It was revealed that the China-Europe Wood Industry Professional Committee will further strengthen coordination and communication with Chinese and European government departments. On behalf of its members, the committee will convey industry conditions and enterprise demands to relevant government authorities, enhance economic and trade exchanges as well as investment and financing cooperation in the forestry, timber, and man-made board sectors between China and Europe, elevate China-Europe forest and timber cooperation to new heights, and promote the implementation of the Belt and Road Initiative and the operation of China-Europe freight trains.

Meanwhile, the specialized committee will also fully leverage the roles of its secretariat and information service center. By drawing on Guoshuyuan—China’s Big Data Platform for Timber Trade—it will provide real-time market updates, price indices, inventory levels at major ports and markets, scheduled arrival dates of incoming vessels, and other relevant information, along with advanced big data analytics. This will enable rational procurement, effective risk mitigation, and the establishment of platforms for information exchange and investment financing between Chinese and European counterparts.
