The China-Russia Wood Processing Trading Center welcomes small and medium-sized wood enterprises to set up operations there.

Recently, at the construction site of the China-Russia Timber Processing Trading Center—located on the east side of the intersection between Landscape Avenue and Provincial Highway 206 in the Suifenhe Border Economic Cooperation Zone—the reporter saw eight excavators as well as over a dozen other pieces of machinery, including trucks and cranes, busily leveling the site. The site is scheduled to be fully leveled by the end of this month. According to officials, the China-Russia Timber Processing Trading Center project is a new-type timber processing park that has been built to a high standard with an investment of 150 million yuan, meeting both fire safety and environmental protection standards. Covering a total area of 660,000 square meters, the park is planned to become a board production base with an annual output capacity of 2 million cubic meters. Once fully operational, the park is expected to generate an annual output value of up to 2.5 billion yuan. The project is currently under planning and construction.

According to the introduction, the China-Russia Wood Processing Trading Center project is a new-type wood-processing park meticulously built with an investment of 150 million yuan to meet both fire safety and environmental protection standards. Covering a total area of 660,000 square meters, the park is planned as a board production base with an annual output capacity of 2 million cubic meters, and upon reaching full capacity, its annual output value could reach 2.5 billion yuan. The project plans to build 200 production lines for coniferous and broadleaf boards, a drying kiln with 200 chambers, and one comprehensive office and apartment building. It will also feature配套 lumber and board stockpiles, a quarantine and fumigation treatment center, a trading center, and a logistics hub. The park’s highlights include its well-rounded supporting facilities, intensive management model, and integrated financial services covering the entire industry chain. In the first phase of the project, 100 rough-processing production lines for logs, a drying kiln with 100 chambers, and a 1,200-square-meter restaurant and office area are being constructed. The project is expected to be ready for operation by the end of November 2018.

In recent years, Suifenhe City has been making every effort to build a wood-processing industrial cluster worth tens of billions of yuan. The city has invited leading enterprises and partners from the wood industry to invest and start businesses in Suifenhe, and has kept pace with the times by introducing a series of forward-looking development strategies and industry policies. These initiatives are not only of great significance for promoting the sustainable development of the forestry sector between China and Russia, but also bring new opportunities for the development of the city’s wood industry as well as for numerous industry investors and entrepreneurs. The China-Russia Wood Processing Trading Center project emerged precisely against this backdrop. To promote standardized operations and upgrade the wood industry, ensure a rational layout of the city’s wood industry chain, and facilitate the full-chain development of the city’s wood industry, the park will provide services such as low-cost centralized procurement and agency purchasing from overseas, intensive order production, and one-stop supply-chain financing solutions. These services will help upstream and downstream enterprises overcome challenges in buying and selling, secure financial support, expand trading channels, and offer comprehensive assistance. The China-Russia Wood Processing Trading Center will provide small and medium-sized enterprises engaged in the rough processing of raw timber with a long-term, stable, and standardized development platform. By integrating with the refined processing sector in the Border Cooperation Zone, the center will foster complementary relationships between upstream and downstream industries, thereby jointly leveraging the advantages of the industrial cluster.
